About Me

Hello, I'm McKayla Martindale. I'm a full time student here at Lane Community College. I work at the Media Arts Equipment Checkout on Campus as well as Cost Plus World Market. I'm currently in the second year of the graphic design program. I intend to finish the program by summer term, but may return for an additional year to complete the web design certificate and the one year multimedia certificate. In addition to my jobs, this term I am taking graphic design 2, graphic design production 2, a co-op with LCC's Design and Media Center (The DMC), and web production. With my education, I plan to explore a career in advertising and marketing with strong animation and experimental printmaking influences. Eventually my goal is to be at a place in my career where I can begin freelance work that assists volunteer and community based non-profit organizations.

Project Description

Project 1: Semantic HTML

The assignment is to create a web page using your résumé for content and basic HTML and CSS to format it in a standard résumé style. The content does not need to be elaborate, it should be very simple and similar to that of a printed résumé. This is an exercise in HTML and CSS basics, and semantic HTML markup practices.

Project 2: Basic Layout

This project is an exercise in structuring and styling a simple layout and will give you more practice working with CSS and image optimization. Follow the instructions below and use the provided sample image and spec sheet as guides for marking up the content and creating style rules.

Project 3: Portfolio Website

Demonstrate knowledge of web production by building a small informational website. The topic of this website is your online portfolio.
